Hear it. Know it. Save it.
The Thing identifies any song playing around you — in a store, at a party, on a passing car radio — and tells you what it is. Then it saves it to your Spotify, adds it to a playlist, or just remembers it for you.
"What's this song?" That's all it takes. The Thing listens to the ambient audio, identifies the track in seconds, and tells you the song name, artist, and album. Works in noisy environments, with live music, and even with cover versions.
Once identified, The Thing can add the song directly to your Spotify library, a specific playlist, or a queue. "Add that to my Liked Songs." "Put it on my road trip playlist." From discovery to saved — in one breath.
Every song The Thing identifies is remembered. "What was that song I heard at the coffee shop yesterday?" "Show me all the songs I've Shazamed this week." Your personal music discovery log, always accessible.
The Thing can run Shazam in the background and notify you when it recognises a song. Walk into a bar, hear something great, and get a quiet notification with the track details. Discovery that happens without you asking.
Say "what's this song?" or "Shazam this" when you hear music.
The Thing listens for a few seconds and identifies the track.
Save it to Spotify, add it to a playlist, or just remember it for later.
Audio is processed. Never recorded.
Audio snippets are sent to Apple's Shazam service for matching and are not stored or retained.
Song identification history is stored locally on your device, not on our servers.
No ambient audio is recorded, saved, or used for any purpose beyond song identification.
Shazam integration can be disabled at any time from the app settings.
